This outstanding Nancy Drew collectible sold on eBay tonight for $1,311.00. It's hard to say for certain how old this item is, but it is likely from the 1930s since Shadow Ranch is the last title listed; the pictured dust jacket has the 1930s art; and the price of the books is 50 cents. The card measures 11 by 14 inches. I would have loved to have bought this fantastic item, but the winning bid was well above what I allow myself to spend on items for my collection. However, I can admire it from afar!

1930s Nancy Drew Advertising Card
This outstanding Nancy Drew collectible sold on eBay tonight for $1,311.00. It's hard to say for certain how old this item is, but it is likely from the 1930s since Shadow Ranch is the last title listed; the pictured dust jacket has the 1930s art; and the price of the books is 50 cents. The card measures 11 by 14 inches. I would have loved to have bought this fantastic item, but the winning bid was well above what I allow myself to spend on items for my collection. However, I can admire it from afar!

Anyway, I have a couple of things to note. I have an Altemus edition of Doris Force at Locked Gates, and, while it does have four glossy illustrations, it does NOT have decorated end papers. Similarly, my Donohue edition of Who Opened the Safe? also has blank end papers, with four glossy illustrations. The boards are red.
Also, looking at the new Betty Gordon section, you mention that there are two cover formats, but only show one style of dust jacket. Will you be adding the other?
There is just one format of Betty Gordon dust jacket. There are two formats of books, but they each have the same style of dust jacket. I may add a dust jacket gallery of the dust jackets that I have. I held off doing so since some of my jackets have trashed spines, and I didn't feel like editing out the flaws. I may crop off the spines and go ahead and add a dust jacket gallery. It would eliminate any confusion. All of them have the same image with the only difference being the title.
Your comments about the Doris Force and Perry Pierce books are interesting. It means that the Altemus and Donohue editions were not all bound the same way. This reminds me of an oddity regarding the first Girl Scouts book by Mildred Wirt that I ought to add to that section. I might go do that now....
I have one Betty Gordon book with different dust jacket art that mimics the first board style--Betty walking down a road. You can see a scan here. It's not in great condition, but it will give you an idea.
Thanks for posting that image. I have not seen that style of dust jacket in the time that I have been monitoring the Betty Gordon listings. It has to be quite scarce. I will update my information in the Betty Gordon section. Thanks again!
A little too much bold text in a small space for me and the picture cover's in an obscure space, but I love the general arrangement of the border and the listings. (Almost-graphic-designer)
