I last read them over 15 years ago, and remembered little to nothing about them. I was always intrigued by the fact that the characters age and their lives progress over the series, but never committed myself to reading the books. I had my hands full with Nancy Drew. <br /><br />I remembered that I liked the two books very much when I first read them, but now I don't care much for Judy herself. What especially drove me crazy about the first book is that she felt she needed to keep a promise to two criminals who kidnap and threaten to kill her. She is too sanctimonious, while also being badly tempered. <br /><br />There are scenes which strike me as very odd too, like when Peter angrily blurts out at Judy that he's not sure who his parents are, or whether the people who raised him are his real grandparents, and then continues to have a pleasant conversation with her as if the topic never came up. squeezewaxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11750753135575040341noreply@blogger.com
